Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 12 October 2026
1. Who we are and about these terms
1.1 These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to all orders placed through containerstorage-services.com (the “Website”). By placing an order you agree to them. Please read them carefully and keep a copy.
1.2 The Website is operated by STORAGE & SERVICES LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 09409136.
- Registered office and trading address: 26 High Street, Haslemere, Surrey, England, GU27 2HW, United Kingdom
- Email: info@containerstorage-services.com
- Telephone: +44 7488 862912
1.3 In these Terms, “consumer” means an individual acting for purposes wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession, and “business customer” means any other customer. “Goods” means the shipping containers, office containers, container bungalows, refrigerated containers and related products we sell.
1.4 These Terms should be read together with our Shipping, Delivery and Payment Policy, Returns and Refunds Policy, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
2. Our goods
2.1 We sell new and used goods. The product page states whether an item is new or used, and for used goods describes their condition. Please read the description carefully before ordering.
2.2 Product images are for illustration only. Used goods in particular may show wear, marks or dents that differ from the photograph unless the photograph is of the actual item for sale. Sizes, weights and specifications shown are as supplied to us and are nominal; minor variations may occur.
2.3 We do not make any statement about certifications, standards or approvals for any goods unless it is expressly stated on the product page or in a written quotation.
2.4 Some goods are made to order or customised. Section 4 applies to those goods.
3. Placing an order and forming a contract
3.1 You may order through the Website. Please check your order carefully, including quantities and delivery address, before you submit it. You may correct input errors before submitting.
3.2 After you submit your order, we will send you an email acknowledging it and giving you our bank details and a payment reference. This acknowledgement is not acceptance of your order.
3.3 Our payment method is bank transfer only (see section 6). Your order is accepted, and a contract between you and us is formed, when we confirm by email that we have received your payment. Until then, we may decline or cancel your order.
3.4 If we cannot accept your order, for example because an item is no longer available, the price on the Website was wrong, or we cannot deliver to your address, we will tell you and refund any money you have paid.
3.5 Where you are a consumer and the contract is formed on the Website, we will send you the contract confirmation, with the information required by law, on a durable medium (email).
3.6 These Terms are in English. Only the English language is available for the contract.
4. Made-to-order and customised goods
4.1 If you want goods made or adapted to your specification, we will send you a written quotation setting out the specification, price, delivery charge and timeframe.
4.2 The contract for customised goods is formed when we confirm receipt of the payment due under the quotation, and the quotation forms part of the contract. If the quotation and these Terms conflict, the quotation applies.
4.3 Please check the specification carefully. After the contract is formed, we begin making the goods, and changes may not be possible or may change the price and timeframe. As explained in the Returns and Refunds Policy, consumers do not have a right to cancel for goods made to their specification.
4.4 Any drawings or designs we create for you remain our property, and you may use them only for the purposes of the contract.
5. Prices
5.1 Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and are displayed inclusive of VAT where applicable. The delivery charge of £179 per container is shown at checkout before you order.
5.2 We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will tell you before dispatch. You may then cancel the order and receive a full refund, or you may choose to proceed at the correct price. We are not obliged to supply goods at an incorrect price once you have been told of the error.
5.3 Prices may change, but a price change will not affect an order for which a contract has already been formed.
6. Payment
6.1 We accept payment by bank transfer only. The order process is described in our Shipping, Delivery and Payment Policy.
6.2 Orders are normally paid in full. Where we agree a deposit and balance with you in writing, you must pay each amount on the dates agreed.
6.3 You must send payment within 5 working days of receiving our bank details. If we have not received payment by then, we may cancel the order.
6.4 We will not accept an order, and delivery timeframes will not begin, until we have received payment in the amount due.
7. Availability
7.1 Most goods on the Website are held in stock, but availability is not guaranteed until your order is accepted under section 3.3. Where an item is not in stock or is made to order, we will tell you the expected timeframe.
7.2 If goods become unavailable after your payment, we will contact you, offer an alternative if there is one, and refund you promptly in full if you do not want it.
8. Delivery, risk and ownership
8.1 We deliver throughout the United Kingdom, in the manner and timeframe set out in our Shipping, Delivery and Payment Policy. Timeframes are estimates unless we agree otherwise in writing.
8.2 You must ensure that the delivery site is suitable and accessible as described in that policy.
8.3 Risk in the goods passes to you (if you are a consumer) when the goods are delivered into your physical possession or that of a person you nominate, and (if you are a business customer) on delivery.
8.4 Ownership of the goods passes to you only when we have received payment in full of all amounts due for them.
8.5 If we fail to deliver on time, your statutory rights are not affected, and we will deal with the delay as set out in the Shipping, Delivery and Payment Policy.
9. Cancellation, returns and refunds
9.1 Consumers have a right to cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods, with the exceptions explained in our Returns and Refunds Policy. Business customers have no statutory right to cancel.
9.2 You may cancel an order before dispatch at any time. We will refund in full.
9.3 Our Returns and Refunds Policy sets out how to cancel, how returns work, who pays for them and how we make refunds.
10. Legal rights, faulty goods and guarantees
10.1 If you are a consumer, the goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. For used goods, these requirements take account of age and condition. For more information about your rights, you can contact Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) or your local Trading Standards office.
10.2 If you think goods are faulty or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible. Our Returns and Refunds Policy sets out your options.
10.3 We do not offer a commercial guarantee beyond your legal rights. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10.4 If you are a business customer, we will repair, replace or refund goods that are faulty or not as described if you notify us within 5 working days of delivery. Other warranties, conditions and terms implied by law are excluded to the extent the law allows.
11. Your responsibilities regarding use and planning
11.1 You are responsible for deciding whether the goods are suitable for your intended use, and for finding out whether you need planning permission, building regulations approval, a licence, a landlord’s or freeholder’s consent, or any other permission before siting or using a container, office container, bungalow or any other structure.
11.2 We do not provide advice on planning or building regulations, and we are not responsible for any refusal, delay or condition imposed by a local authority or other body. Please check with your local planning authority before you order.
11.3 You must use the goods safely and lawfully, and in line with any instructions we provide.
12. Our responsibility to you
12.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
12.2 If you are a consumer and we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our negligence, but we are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. We are not responsible for business losses if you are a consumer, as we supply the goods only for domestic and private use.
12.3 If you are a business customer, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill, and our total liability to you in relation to any order is limited to the price you paid for that order.
12.4 We are not responsible for delay or failure to perform where this is caused by an event outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, strikes, fire, flood, government action, failures by carriers, supply chain disruption or restrictions on movement. We will contact you and take reasonable steps to limit the effect. If the event continues for more than 30 days, either of us may cancel the affected order, and we will refund any money you have paid for goods not delivered.
13. Complaints and disputes
13.1 If you have a complaint, please contact us at info@containerstorage-services.com or on +44 7488 862912, giving your order number. We will acknowledge it and aim to resolve it fairly and promptly.
13.2 We are not currently a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme. If we cannot resolve a complaint, consumers may seek advice from Citizens Advice or use the courts.
14. Data protection
We use your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
15. General
15.1 Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, and we will tell you in writing if this happens. You may not transfer your rights without our written consent, unless you are a consumer and the law allows it.
15.2 Entire agreement (business customers). If you are a business customer, these Terms and any written quotation are the entire agreement between us, and you have not relied on any statement not set out in them.
15.3 Third parties. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms.
15.4 If a term is unenforceable. If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
15.5 Waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we may still do so later.
15.6 Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. The Terms in force when you place your order apply to that order.
15.7 Governing law. These Terms and any contract formed under them are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring a claim in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, and you keep the benefit of the mandatory consumer protection laws of the place where you live. If you are a business customer, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
